Sunday dinner with Jen, Sophie and a friend.  Getting harder and harder to keep this tradition up.  I tell you, it's hard to do when Jen's working and you've got to keep one eye on Sophie and the other on the Sunday football games.  Basically gotta work furiously while Sophie takes her naps.  On the menu you this week: Roasted chicken, roasted beet salad, beet leaves (collard greens style), and Tarte Tatin for dessert. Got eveyrthing from the farmer's market Saturday with Sophie.  Tarte Tatin was inspired by Dan and Jen's attempt to make it a couple X-mas's ago...sorry Dan and Jen, I think mine turned out better.

Also, thanks to my aunt (Steph's) who gave me a huge bag of Fuji apples!!  Thought it would take forever to finish the bag but I'm surprised to see it almost gone.  Made some apple sauce for Sophie and she slopped it up!!

Apples with sugar and butter.            Sugars starting to carmelize

Pastry dough.  First time making it.  Turned out easier than I thought it would be.
My flour phobia is officially over.

After turning it over.  Bah, screwed up the edges of
the pastry and used the wrong plate.  Jen promised
me to help pretty it up next time.  So easy otherwise...

Homemade bread. Don't think I can go back to
store bought; no bakery in the US (outside SF
and NYC perhaps) comes close.
Flour, yeast, salt, and water, that's it!!
Crusty and soft in the middle.

Roasted chicken.  My favorite.  Love eating it with
a little butter and Dijon mustard.

Hello Everybody!!

Things going well here.  Baby getting mobile.  Will have to baby proof our place.  She's starting to get into everything.  Good news!!  Her first tooth just erupted!

Hope you enjoy this vid.  Tried to keep it short this time!!

Here's the link to video of the 100 day party.  Need to use MS Explorer to properly see the vid.  Didn't really listen closely to edit out anything embarassing.  So sorry if I embarass anyone.  Fun times...

Religious Thoughts
You are Agnostic
You're not sure if God exists, and you don't care.
For you, there's no true way to figure out the divine.
You rather focus on what you can control - your own life.
And you tend to resent when others "sell" religion to you.
